CTC163: Sale-A-Bration

Today I played along with CASEing the Catty Challenge.  Caseing projects found in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I cased a card from page 15 of the SAB Catalogue.

 Supplies Used:

How I made this card:

1. I took the Lemon Lime Twist Card from the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes for the card base.

2. I then took a piece of Petal Passion DSP and cut it down to 4-1/4” x 3” and adherered it to the card base Fast Fuse.

3. I took a piece of the Wood Textures DSP Stack and cut it to 4″ x 2” and stamped the Lavender outline with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

4. I also stamped the same stamp on a separate Whisper White card stock.

5. I stamped the watercolour effect over the top of both in Pool Party.  I then fussy cut out the Lavender that I stamped onto the Whisper White card stock.

6. I stamped the leaves and the bow in Lemon Lime Twist and the rest of the stem I stamped in Pool Party onto the Wood Textures piece.

7. I then adhered the fussy cut out piece onto the other Lavender with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the whole piece onto the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark onto Basic Black Card Stock, then head embossed White Embossing Powder and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9. Finally I took the Star Sequins from the Colour Me Happy Project Kit and adhered them with the Fine-Tip Glue.

Hope you enjoyed my CASE.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’,

Happy Catalogue Launch Day

First day of winter here in Australia and there’s no better way to celebrate then to curl up with the brand new 2017-18 Annual Catalogue which launched today!!!

I’m pretty sure you would have seen the front cover and projects using the some of the items that were available to demonstrators.

Here is top 5 things I’m looking forward to trying

1. Embossing Paste – I have always wanted to try playing with mix media but never new where to start and now I will have a chance.

2. Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project Kit – In the last couple of months I have fell in love with heat embossing but this could project kit could expand my love of heat embossing even further.

3. Love Today All Inclusive Planner Kit – I have never been a planner person but if I was to get this kit I think I would want to attempt a photo a day project.

4. Eastern Palace Suite – This suite has already been available for preorder, which I am regretting not getting, especially after seeing all the beautiful things that other demos have created. My favourite item from this suite is the thinlits dies, you can make so many different combinations.

5. Pick a Pattern Suite – One of my favourite design concepts/looks is the offset look, which is the main design concept for the entire Annual Catalogue and this style is carried onto the suite.  My favourite items from this suite is a tie between the Designer Series Paper and the Paper Clips.

I hope you enjoy the new Annual Catalogue as much as I do!!

Until next time…

Happy Stampin’,

Playing in the Urban Underground

I recently got some items from the Urban Underground Suite of the Occasions Catalogue and wanted to have a play.

I wanted to show the versatility of this cards design and products within the suite to create a birthday card and a thank you card.

The two cards use Delightful Dijon and Versamark with Clear Embossing Powder (my new favourite item, don’t know how I have gone this long without it). The birthday sentiment is from Super Duper Stamp Set and the thank you sentiment is from Scenic Sayings.

How I made these cards?

  • Card base is A6 Basic Grey;
  • Card matte is 5 3/4 x 4in in Very Vanilla;
  • I stamped the sentiment in both Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla and Versamark on Basic Grey then added Clear Embossing Powder;
  • I cut out the banner details from each sentiment that are stamped on the Basic Grey;
  • I cut out the sentiments stamped on the Very Vanilla with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies;
  • I cut out Basic Grey circle with the second largest circle, then embossed the circle using the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder;
  • Then I cut out the two circles from the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper with the second smallest circle;
  • Finally I put all three Urban Underground Designer Washi Tape on to the Very Vanilla matte;

Colour Challenge – CYCI#148

So I am back to blogging and to kick it off I decided on the Can You Case It? Colour Challenge.  I used this as inspiration to make my Grandma’s birthday card.   17098700_10211646694578325_3645540853983100779_n

Yellow has never been a top pick in the colour department so it was a great challenge for me and as for turquoise well Bermuda Bay has always been one of my favourites.

Here is my card:

I used the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set.  The background is stamped on Shimmery White, in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

The Lace Doilies are from the Falling In Love Suite.  I inked this in Daffodil Delight, then Versamarked and Clear Embossed.

The circle on the doily is die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Finally I cut the flowers with the Succulents Framelits Dies.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

Christmas Stamp a Stack Idea

Can you believe it’s only 10 days until Christmas??!!

Well if you’re needing an idea to make a lot of cards quickly here’s a stamp a stack idea.

How I made this card?

  • On piece of Whisper White Card Stock (A4, 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12), using the Christmas Pines Stamp Set to stamp the branches, the thicker branch stamp is in Mint Macaron, the thinner branch is VersaMark then Emerald Envy Glitter Embossing Powder.  I stamped them randomly to cover the page.
  • I cut the stamped page into 3.5 in strips x  148mm (to match the half fold of my card base)
  • I cut another piece of whisper white to matte my card (148 x 105mm), I adhered this to the piece stamped with the branches with Tear & Tape
  • I used the Layering Circles Framelits Dies to cut the neckline of the whisper white pieces, I also embossed the pieces with the Cable Knit Embossing Folder
  • Card Base is Thick Whisper White Card Stock A6 (297 x 105mm scored at 148mm)
  • I adhered the embossed piece to the card base
  • The sentiment is from the Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set Emerald Envy, the banner is a separate 1in strip adhered together a Stampin’ Dimensional

I hope this gives you a helpful idea to get through your last minute Christmas card making.

Until next time… Happy Stampin,

#gdp064 – Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland, well I can only dream… as we are in for a hot Aussie summer Christmas.

My card today is to play along with the Global-Design-Project and Case the Designer, Connie Collins.

Here is my card:

I took inspiration from Connie’s card with the placement of the sentiment, the shape of the background image and the use of Marina Mist.

The colours I used were Emerald Envy, Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Mint Macaron. The stamp sets I used were Christmas Pines and Labeler Alphabet.

How I made this card?

  • Thick Whisper White card base (210 x 148mm, scored at 105mm)
  • Emerald Envy piece is 143 x 100mm
  • Background is watercolour paper cut to 138 x 95mm
  • The background is stamped with the snowflakes stamp from Christmas Pines using Versamark and White Embossing Powder, then I sponged Soft Sky and then Marina Mist over top trying to focus the colour where I had stamped
  • For the sentiment I used the bottle tag from the Cheerful Tags Framelits Dies, in Whisper White, folding it over the watercolour paper piece
  • On a separate piece of Whisper White I cut out the second smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
  • On the circle I stamped my sentiment using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set in Mint Macaron, I know it looks grey but that’s because I didn’t clean my the stamps properly but I like it, I think it works…
  • I added a piece of Emerald Envy Ribbon through the tag wholes
  • Finally I adhered everything using Glue Dots, Snail Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope everyone is enjoying the festive season wherever you are.

Until next time… Happy stampin’,

Merry & Bright Brick Wall

At the beginning of November when I attended Onstage Live I participated in my teams ATC (Artist Trading Card) Swap.  These cards needed to be 3 x 4in in size and must use any current products.

This is my card that I came up with:

How I made this card:

  • Card base is Emerald Envy
  • Brick Wall layer is Whisper White, I inked up the Brick Wall Textured Impression Embossing Folder with Versamark and ran through the Big Shot and covered with Gold Embossing Powder (I used a dry brush to remove any excess powder)
  • The Merry & Bright sentiment (from the Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set) was stamped twice and cut out the a whole one banner and then one with just Merry & Bright, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the two piece together
  • The snowflake (from the Tin of Tags Stamp Set) stamped on Vellum in Versamark and covered with White Embossing Powder, I cut out the snowflakes with the 4.5cm circle from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies

This card can be reconfigured to create any sized card.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,
