Product Spotlight: Lots of Happy Card Kit

Here is the other kit in the Occasions Catalogue, the Lots of Happy Card Kit.  Two things I love about this kit is, it’s an all inclusive kit which means you get everything you need to put these cards together. *the only thing sold separately is tape, ie Fast Fuse or Snail Adhesive. The other thing I love is this kit comes with watercolour pencils to colour in with.  Although you are able to colour in using other colouring tools.

I coloured in these four different ways.

1. Neat watercolour pencil colouring

2. Messy and fast watercolour pencil colouring

3. Stampin’ Blends

4. Aqua Painters and Classic Stampin’ Pads

As you can see by changing your colouring method you can get many different looks.  My favourite is the Aqua Painters.

Product Spotlight: Perennial Birthday Project Kit

One of my favourite things from any new catalogue are the project kits.  In this years Occasions Catalogue there are two new kits, one an All-Inclusive Card Kit and then this one the Perennial Birthday Project Kit.

This kit includes a beautiful box to put your 16 cards (4 cards in 4 designs) and 12 month dividers.

In this video below Holly from the Stampin’ Up! Home Office shows how easy this project kit is to put together.

Here are some close up shots of the cards.

CTC140 – For Babies & Kids

I have been really enjoying playing along with all these different challenges during this past week. Today I am playing along with CASEing the Catty 140. CASEing samples from the For Babies & Kids section of the Annual Catalogue (page 102 – 111).

I chose to case the card on page 109 that features the No Bones About It photopolymer stamp set.

For my card I used the You're Delightful hostess stamp set.

How I made this card:

  • The card case is A6 thick Whisper White.
  • I randomly stamped the speech bubble stamps across the card front in Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Flirty Flamingo.
  • I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White in Flirty Flamingo and filled in the letters with Clear Wink of Stella.
  • I added on some Silver 1/4" Natural Trim, Silver 1/8" Ribbon and Silver Sequins.

I love the final outcome of this card and have really started to embrace using ribbons and trims.

Here is the challenge if anyone wanted to join me.

And until next time… Happy Stampin',

Mixing Brand New and Retiring

This stack of cards was created for a breast cancer fundraiser at my Mum’s work.

I wanted to start to have a play with the new items from the Annual Catalogue 2017 – 18 that launches 1st June plus work in current/retiring items.

I picked four different pinks Powder Pink, Berry Burst (these are two new In Colors 2017-19), Flirty Flamingo and Pink Pirouette, plus Basic Black and Tranquil Tide (also a new In Color).

I used an entire packet of Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes.

1 – Frilly Berry Burst

This card is matted with Berry Burst Card Stock. The frill is created by cutting blocks of colour of the Berry Burst sheet from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set, I stamped twice in Berry Burst, then fussy cut both out.

2 – Pocket Change

I used another sheet of Berry Burst from the Color Theory DSP Stack but this time I used the watercolour effect one.  This is perfect for making it look like jeans that have faded in places.   I managed to fit four pockets from the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp Set on one 6×6.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals so an actual note could still fit in the pocket.  The note is stamped in Tranquil Tide, the pocket tag is stamped in Berry Burst and Basic Black.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set.

3 – A Lifting Note

This card uses the Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Up & Away Dies and Stitched Shapes.  I stamped the balloons in Flirty Flamingo and Pink Pirouette.  The Balloon Die was cut out in Whisper White and using Dauper I sponged Flirty Flamingo on the top half.

4 – Blast of Berry Burst

This card uses the Birthday Blast Stamp Set and the matching Star Blast Dies.  The sentiment is from the Window Shopping Stamp Set.  I stamped the background stars in Powder Pink and the star die is cut out in Berry Burst.

5 – Flirty Flamingo Flamingo

This card uses the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set, stamping in Flirty Flamingo, Pink Pirouette and Basic Black.  The leaves on the background were stamped around the edge in both pinks.  The Flamingo is stamped in Pink Pirouette, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

6 – Decked out in Powder Pink and Berry Burst

This card uses Berry Burst and Powder Pink.  I created the background by taking the A Clear Block and inking it in Powder Pink then swirling it around the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set.  The chair is cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

7 – Piece of Cake

These cards use all Powder Pink and all Pink Pirouette.  I inked up the doilies with the colour ink pads then with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Blast sentiment, I fussy cut them out.  The cake dies are left overs from the Bithday Bright Project Kit, the pieces were not the same white as the note cards so used dauber and sponged the matching colours onto the cake dies.

8 – Super Duper Doilies

These cards use all four pinks.  I took my ink pads of Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo and inked up the Lace Doilies (which I am so upset they are retiring)… And by the way is it just me or does that Berry Burst Doily look like Blackberry Bliss?

I also used Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder to almost reinforce the doilies because they become super fragile from being inked up.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set, I stamped in all four pinks, then cut the ‘Birthday’ out of the lighter colours.

9 – Super Simple I Love You

This card is really simple, I used Pink Piroeutte Ink Pad to stamp the background.  Flirty Flamingo to stamp ink the doily.  The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set, which was cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my nine cards, and until next time…

Happy stampin,

CTC 90 – Project Life and Kits

This week I wanted to switch it up and play along with CASEing the Catty Challenge.  This challenge really intrigued me because there are so many different kinds of inspiration within the Project Life and Kit category of the catalogue.

I chose to take inspiration from the Watercolor Wishes All-Inclusive Card Kits.  I made up this kit all the way back in May and I have it mounted on black card hanging up behind me at my desk, next to the Oh Happy Day Card Kit of course.  They are both gorgeous kits but I must say Watercolor Wishes is my favourite out of the two.

I just love the washes of colour on the base cards and watercolour flowers, and don’t get me started on the stamp set!

Here are the cards I made:

I wanted to use some of the new In Colors… I haven’t been giving Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo much love lately.  I still had to throw in Sweet Sugarplum, my favourite new In Color!! As well as Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry for some definition.

The Stamps I used were the Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Scenic Sayings, Mixed Borders and Penned & Painted.

Here’s a close look at each card:

Card no. 1:

  • Card base: A5 scored in half of Thick Whisper White.
  • Flirty Flamingo to stamp the watercolour stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar.
  • Sentiment piece is half inch piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock layered under a piece Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White, I created the banner edge using Banner Triple Punch.
  • The sentiment is from the Mixed Borders Stamp Set and is stamped in Peekaboo Peach.
  • The flower is from the Penned & Painted Stamp Set I used Sweet Sugarplum for the painted step and Rich Razzleberry for the penned step.
  • I adhered everything with Snail and the flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Card no. 2:

  • Card base: A5 scored in half of Thick Whisper White.
  • The background is stamped in Peekaboo Peach using the watercolour stamp.
  • The banner piece is Sweet Sugarplum.
  • The sentiment is from Scenic Sayings stamped in Flirty Flamingo.
  • The flowers are stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum for the painted step and Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry for the penned step.
  • I adhered the banner with Snail, the sentiment and larger flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the smaller flower with more Snail.

Card no. 3:

  • Card base: A5 scored in half of Thick Whisper White.
  • The next layer is 5cm smaller then the closed card.  I used the circles from the Perpetual  Birthday Calendar stamped in Flirty Flamingo, stamping randomly but not overlapping circles at the top and bottom of the piece.
  • The strip at the bottom and the banner at the top is Sweet Sugarplum.
  • The sentiment is from Scenic Sayings stamped in Peekaboo Peach.
  • The flowers are stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum for the painted step and Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry for the penned step.
  • I adhered the strip and banner on to the bottom layer and then the flowers on to the banner with Snail.  The bottom layer was then attached to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I really enjoyed this challenge… If you wanted to give it a go here is the challenge.  You have until the end of August to submit your project.

Until next time… Happy stamping,
