Colour INKspiration Challenge: CI29

Today I played along with Colour INKspiration Challenge, CI29.  In this challenge we had to use Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Very Vanilla.

For this challenge I CASEd a card that I saw over on Instagram by Eva Pauline Bruckner or @heldenstempel on Instagram.  I loved the watercolour effect that she created using the Eclectic Expressions Stamp Set and I wanted to replicate it.

Products Used:

How I made this card:

  • Card base: Crumb Cake to 8-1/4″ x 5-3/4″, scored at 4-1/8″.
  • The middle layer is Very Vanilla Cardstock 5-3/16″ x 3-5/8″.
  • The top layer is Shimmery White cut to 4-15/16″ x 3-3/8″.
  • Then I stamped the different stamps on to a piece plastic packaging a couple of times to build up the colour, I then used the Stampin’ Spritzer to wet the stamp and smooshed it to the Shimmer White Cardstock.  Stamping in Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Garden Green.
  • Over the top of each watercoloured stamped area I stamped the original shape of the top in the same colour.
  • I then took some of the other shapes and stamped them around the Shimmery White piece in Chocolate Chip Ink.
  • I stamped the Sentiment on to the Shimmery White piece and a separate piece of Shimmery White in Chocolate Chip Ink.  I punched out the separate “Happy” sentiment with the Classic Label Punch.
  • I adhered the Shimmery White and Very Vanilla pieces together with Fast Fuse Adhesive, then attached it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finally attached the sentiment piece with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This second card is similar to the last except the Very Vanilla and Shimmery White pieces are slightly different.  Very Vanilla piece: 5-1/8″ x 3-1/2″, Shimmery White piece: 5″ x 3-3/8″.  I used Chocolate Chip to smoosh on to the Shimmery White instead of Crumb Cake.

I stamped Blushing Bride on to the extra piece where I stamped the sentiment.  And finally tied some Solid Whisper White Baker’s Twine that I coloured a little bit with Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker.

I really enjoyed this technique.  It was so simple and easy to do.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

#GDP065 – Colour Challenge

When I saw this challenge I instantly thought of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper because I knew it had Real Red in the design.

So here is the challenge:

How I made this card?

  • Card base is Thick Whisper White Card (210 x 148mm scored at 105mm)
  • I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies – the smallest square to cut out 8 squares from the Candy Cane Lane DSP
  • I adhered them together with Tear & Tape and then Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the whole piece to the card base
  • My sentiment is from Christmas Pines, I inked up the sentiment with Real Red, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • I finished it off with Clear Wink of Stellar on some of the DSP design and on some of the sentiment.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’

Global Design Project #GDP004 | Case the Designer

The other day I had sat down to finish off my brother 21st birthday invitations which he had started a couple of weekends ago and being a typical 20 year old still hasn’t finished.  So when I soon ran out of birthday details instead of printing out more I also got distracted by my Flurry of Wishes stamp set that I had yet to try out.  I had also seen this challenge and thought I give it a go.

As much as I love cherry cobbler, I also like the idea of a neutral christmas.  So went and stamped the Flurry of Wishes, the stamp with the two snowflakes, in both Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.  Punched them out but only used the smaller snowflake.  After playing with the placement I decided on using snail on the Crumb Cake and dimensionals on the Soft Suede.  Added a bow, some rhinestones and banner with more rhinestones (of course!).

Happy Stamping,
