Playing in the Urban Underground

I recently got some items from the Urban Underground Suite of the Occasions Catalogue and wanted to have a play.

I wanted to show the versatility of this cards design and products within the suite to create a birthday card and a thank you card.

The two cards use Delightful Dijon and Versamark with Clear Embossing Powder (my new favourite item, don’t know how I have gone this long without it). The birthday sentiment is from Super Duper Stamp Set and the thank you sentiment is from Scenic Sayings.

How I made these cards?

  • Card base is A6 Basic Grey;
  • Card matte is 5 3/4 x 4in in Very Vanilla;
  • I stamped the sentiment in both Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla and Versamark on Basic Grey then added Clear Embossing Powder;
  • I cut out the banner details from each sentiment that are stamped on the Basic Grey;
  • I cut out the sentiments stamped on the Very Vanilla with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies;
  • I cut out Basic Grey circle with the second largest circle, then embossed the circle using the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder;
  • Then I cut out the two circles from the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper with the second smallest circle;
  • Finally I put all three Urban Underground Designer Washi Tape on to the Very Vanilla matte;

CTC118 – Cool Treats

Today I had some fun with Caseing the Catty, picking samples from the Cool Treats pages in the Occasions Catalogue.  I picked the three cards on page 37 that feature the Just Keep Swimming Stamp Set.

  • The sentiment is stamped on 1cm strip of Pool Party stamped in Bermuda Bay, the I fish tailed the end with my snips;
  • I placed Rhinestones around the card.

Card No. 2:

  • Card base is Pool Party, stamped the smallest succulent in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, the three little flowers are stamped in Bermuda Bay.
  • I coloured in the succulents with Clear Wink of Stella;
  • Sentiment is stamped on Whisper White, cut with the Duet Banner stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

Card No. 3:

  • Card base is Sweet Sugarplum, stamped the smallest flower and the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum;
  • The three succulents with were stamped in Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay;

Colour Challenge – CYCI#148

So I am back to blogging and to kick it off I decided on the Can You Case It? Colour Challenge.  I used this as inspiration to make my Grandma’s birthday card.   17098700_10211646694578325_3645540853983100779_n

Yellow has never been a top pick in the colour department so it was a great challenge for me and as for turquoise well Bermuda Bay has always been one of my favourites.

Here is my card:

I used the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set.  The background is stamped on Shimmery White, in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

The Lace Doilies are from the Falling In Love Suite.  I inked this in Daffodil Delight, then Versamarked and Clear Embossed.

The circle on the doily is die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Finally I cut the flowers with the Succulents Framelits Dies.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

Here is my card:

  • I took the Emerald Envy Taffeta Ribbon, from the new Party Animal Suite, and wrapped it around card twice and tied a bow.
  • I adhered the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • On Whisper White Cardstock I stamped the flower and outline from the Penned & Painted Stamp Set in Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry
  • Then the leaves and outline in Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy
  • I fussy cut flower and leaves and flower out separately, and adhered those with Tear & Tape

Here is a close up of that detailed die from the new Window Box Thinlits Dies…

Until next time… Happy Stampin’

You’re Super Duper! #CYCI143

So I am here with my first new catalogue inspiration post, showing off my Super Duper Birthday Card.  To make this card I played along with Can You Case It? Sketch Challenge.

Here is my card:

My colour palette for this card is Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

How I made this card?

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White;
  • The background is Shimmery White Cardstock cut to 148 x 95mm;
  • Using re-inkers for each colour mentioned above on a piece of plastic packaging and water I used them to randomly colour the page.  I used my heat tool speed up the drying process;
  • I ran the background piece through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder;
  • I stamped the sentiment twice once in Daffodil Delight and once in Melon Mambo.  I fussy out the whole Daffodil Delight and just the ‘Super Duper’ on the Melon Mambo;
  • I stamped the balloon from the same stamp set in Rich Razzleberry, fussy cut that out too;
  • Then I adhered everything down with Tear & Tape and Stampin’ Dimensionals on the sentiment.

I just love how this card turned out. The shimmer that you can see on the background piece is just gorgeous!!

Until next time… Happy stampin’

New Catalogue Inspiration

I can’t believe it’s time for Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue time again!! Where does the time go?? But I am not complaining who doesn’t like, who am I kidding LOVE, a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue!!

Since November I have been sharing with you some cards made using some new products. Well today I am going to be previewing 6 projects that’ll be shared with you in more detail over the coming weeks.

1  //  Balloon Adventures Box – I just love this stamp set, thinlits dies and ribbon from the Party Animal Suite.  This box is made using the Balloon Pop Up Thinlits Dies, the largest die in the set can be used to create flat card fronts, a pop up piece for the inside of the card or box like mine below.

2  //  Up & Away Card in a Box – I think this is my favourite bundle from the new catalogue.  This is the Lift My Up Stamp Set and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies or more simply the Lift Me Up Bundle.  And it can be paired with the Carried Away Designer Series Paper that can be found in the SAB Catalogue.  I just love this box it can be given as a gift to a very deserving friend or be a decoration in your house.  The sentiment is from the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set.

3  //  Club 93 Cousins Scrapbook Page – I am lucky to come from a large family where I have me and 2 of my cousins are born in the same year so we have lots of photos of the three of us.  For this scrapbook page I wanted to create a watercoloured background and I love taking colour inspiration from the colours used in Designer Series Paper.  I knew that I wanted to use the Mint Macaron paper from the Blooms & Bliss DSP.  So my colours I used on the background is Mint Macaron, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.  I added touches of the Copper Embossing Powder to finish it off.

4  //  Super Duper Birthday Card – I just love how the scrapbook page background turned out so I decided to the give it ago for the background of this card.  This time I used Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo.  I finally got my hands on the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so I had to use it.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set, I stamped the sentiment twice and cut out the middle part pop it up.  I just the love the shimmer you can see from the Shimmery White Card Stock.

5  //  Penned & Painted, Blooms & Bliss Card – This card is really simple and doesn’t need a sentiment because I think it could cover any occasion.  I used the Blooms & Bliss DSP for the background and the hexagon shaped die from the Window Box Thinlits Dies.  I added the flower and leaves from the Penned & Painted Stamp Set.

6  //  Watermelon Wonder Folder Top Card – I love creating the folder top detail to my cards using the Envelope Punch Board but I have never done a double folder top.  Once I had finished the card with the sentiment I thought it needed something else… So I added in the lace detail with the Delicate Details Stamp Set from the SAB Catalogue and another piece of Watermelon Wonder and I couldn’t help it I had to emboss it with the Copper powder and the Hexagons Embossing Folder.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a snippet some of the projects coming up on my blog.  I can’t wait to share them with you in a bit more detail…

And until next time… Happy Stampin’,
