I chose the card on page 128.

LM17-CASE003b

I cased the colours and layout of the card.  I used the Eastern Beauty and the You’re Delightful Stamp Set.

LM17-CASE003a

How I made this card:

  1. A6 Card base in Pool Party.
  2. Whisper White matte cut to 10 x 14.4cm, I die cut sections out with the Eastern Medallion Thinlits Dies.
  3. Behind the Whisper White piece I cut small pieces of Vellum and Lemon Lime Twists and adhered them to the back.
  4. I stamped and die cut the Emerald Envy and Peekaboo Peach pieces.
  5. I die cut the Calypso Coral piece.
  6. I cut 2 x 1cm strips of Lemon Lime Twist.
  7. The sentiment is from the You’re Delightful stamp set, stamped on to Pool Party with Emerald Envy and cut out with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes die set.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this card.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

2. Hello Friend Heat Embossing Project Kit – In the last couple of months I have fell in love with heat embossing but this could project kit could expand my love of heat embossing even further.

Annual17_p016b.jpg

3. Love Today All Inclusive Planner Kit – I have never been a planner person but if I was to get this kit I think I would want to attempt a photo a day project.

annual17_p013a.jpg

4. Eastern Palace Suite – This suite has already been available for preorder, which I am regretting not getting, especially after seeing all the beautiful things that other demos have created. My favourite item from this suite is the thinlits dies, you can make so many different combinations.

Annual17_p018_a

5. Pick a Pattern Suite – One of my favourite design concepts/looks is the offset look, which is the main design concept for the entire Annual Catalogue and this style is carried onto the suite.  My favourite items from this suite is a tie between the Designer Series Paper and the Paper Clips.

I hope you enjoy the new Annual Catalogue as much as I do!!

Mixing Brand New and Retiring

This stack of cards was created for a breast cancer fundraiser at my Mum’s work.

LM17-NOTE001a

I wanted to start to have a play with the new items from the Annual Catalogue 2017 – 18 that launches 1st June plus work in current/retiring items.

I picked four different pinks Powder Pink, Berry Burst (these are two new In Colors 2017-19), Flirty Flamingo and Pink Pirouette, plus Basic Black and Tranquil Tide (also a new In Color).

I used an entire packet of Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes.

LM17-NOTE001b

1 – Frilly Berry Burst

This card is matted with Berry Burst Card Stock. The frill is created by cutting blocks of colour of the Berry Burst sheet from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set, I stamped twice in Berry Burst, then fussy cut both out.

LM17-NOTE001c

2 – Pocket Change

I used another sheet of Berry Burst from the Color Theory DSP Stack but this time I used the watercolour effect one.  This is perfect for making it look like jeans that have faded in places.   I managed to fit four pockets from the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp Set on one 6×6.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals so an actual note could still fit in the pocket.  The note is stamped in Tranquil Tide, the pocket tag is stamped in Berry Burst and Basic Black.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set.

LM17-NOTE001d

3 – A Lifting Note

This card uses the Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Up & Away Dies and Stitched Shapes.  I stamped the balloons in Flirty Flamingo and Pink Pirouette.  The Balloon Die was cut out in Whisper White and using Dauper I sponged Flirty Flamingo on the top half.

LM17-NOTE001e

4 – Blast of Berry Burst

This card uses the Birthday Blast Stamp Set and the matching Star Blast Dies.  The sentiment is from the Window Shopping Stamp Set.  I stamped the background stars in Powder Pink and the star die is cut out in Berry Burst.

LM17-NOTE001f

5 – Flirty Flamingo Flamingo

This card uses the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set, stamping in Flirty Flamingo, Pink Pirouette and Basic Black.  The leaves on the background were stamped around the edge in both pinks.  The Flamingo is stamped in Pink Pirouette, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

LM17-NOTE001g

6 – Decked out in Powder Pink and Berry Burst

This card uses Berry Burst and Powder Pink.  I created the background by taking the A Clear Block and inking it in Powder Pink then swirling it around the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set.  The chair is cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

LM17-NOTE001h

7 – Piece of Cake

These cards use all Powder Pink and all Pink Pirouette.  I inked up the doilies with the colour ink pads then with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Blast sentiment, I fussy cut them out.  The cake dies are left overs from the Bithday Bright Project Kit, the pieces were not the same white as the note cards so used dauber and sponged the matching colours onto the cake dies.

LM17-NOTE001i

8 – Super Duper Doilies

These cards use all four pinks.  I took my ink pads of Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo and inked up the Lace Doilies (which I am so upset they are retiring)… And by the way is it just me or does that Berry Burst Doily look like Blackberry Bliss?

I also used Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder to almost reinforce the doilies because they become super fragile from being inked up.  The sentiment is from the Super Duper Stamp Set, I stamped in all four pinks, then cut the ‘Birthday’ out of the lighter colours.

LM17-NOTE001j

9 – Super Simple I Love You

This card is really simple, I used Pink Piroeutte Ink Pad to stamp the background.  Flirty Flamingo to stamp ink the doily.  The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set, which was cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my nine cards, and until next time…

Happy stampin,

Lauren

Two Challenges, One Card

Can you believe that I have never created a card that fit into two challenges?

Well today I decided to take the plunge and play along with both Colour INKspiration’s Colour Challenge and Can You Case It’s Sketch Challenge.

Here is my card:

LM17-BC008.jpg

How I made this card?

  • Thick Whisper White Card Base A6;
  • Background is 6×4 Project Life card from the Good Vibes Project Life Card Collection, I cut 1/4in off the long side;
  • The PL card is embossed with the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder;
  • The Square piece is Mint Macaron cut to 7 1/16in, layered on top of that is Pink Pirouette cut to 7in;
  • The sentiment is from Super Duper Stamp Set, stamped in Pink Pirouette. On a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock I stamped the same sentiment in Daffodil Delight and fussy cut the banner section out;
  • The balloons are from the same stamp set and are stamped in Tip Top Taupe on Tip Top Taupe;
  • I finished off the card with Urban Underground Embellishments.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

My Onstage Sydney Swaps

I just wanted to share my swap that I created for Onstage Local that I attended this past weekend in Sydney.

I participated in my teams ATC (Artist Trading Card) Swap which required us to create cards that were 3x4in in size.

This is the card I created:

LM17-SWAP001

I used products from the Succulent Garden Suite along with the Suite Sentiments Stamp Set and the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes Dies.

I just love the way it all came together and I think it would look just as great scaled to fit on an A6 card front.

Until next time.. Happy Stampin’,

Lauren

CTC 122 – Falling in Love Pages

Today I am playing along with Caseing the Catty challenge of caseing projects found in the Falling Love Suite (Page 50 – 54) of the Occasions Catalogue.

I chose the following card found on page 53.

occ17_p053d

I wanted to challenge myself and create a male and female card for this case.  Here are my cards:

LM17-CASE002b

LM17-CASE002c

How I made these cards:

  • Card base: Thick Whisper White Card Stock A6;
  • Designer Series Paper layers are from the Succulent Garden DSP and Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  Cut to 4 x 5 3/4in, circle is cut with the largest circle from the Layering Circles Framelits;
  • I stamped and double stamped the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set in Sweet Sugarplum and Traveler Stamp Set in Basic Black on to the card base;
  • I used the white and silver washi from the Urban Underground Designer Washi Tape on both cards;
  • I cut 1 x 3.5in vellum strips that I punched on end with the Banner Triple Punch;
  • The mother’s day sentiment is from the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set, I stamped in Basic Black on to the Vellum and then Sweet Sugarplum on to separate piece of Whisper White the fussy cut out ‘Mother’s’;
  • The father’s day sentiment is from the Alphabet Labeler Stamp Set in Delightful Dijon on to Whisper White and fussy cut that out and stamped the rest of the sentiment on to the vellum in Basic Black;
  • I adhered everything with Snail Adhesive.

Until next time… Happy stampin’,

Lauren

Split Hexagons

Back in January I created a card the Can You Case It? Challenge.  My card had this beautiful watercolour effect  background that I then ran through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Well that card had my second attempt at doing the watercolour effect.

The following two cards feature my first attempt.

I have a hard time throwing things away so this piece floated around my desk for months.  My main problem with the original piece was that it didn’t emboss straight.

So after months of staring at it I decided to cut of all the pieces that made it look not straight, keeping a few of the hexagons to create the second card.  I chose hexagons that had some good colour differentiation.

How I made this card:

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White;
  • The background is Shimmery White Cardstock cut to 148 x 95mm;
  • Using Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight on a piece of plastic packaging and water I used them to randomly colour the page.  I used my heat tool speed up the drying process;
  • I ran the background piece through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, using my paper snips I cut off some of the hexagons;
  • I ran two 4 x 5 3/4in pieces of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Embossing Folder;
  • I adhered the solid hexagons with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the individual hexagons with SNAIL Adhesive;
  • The sentiment is from Scenic Sayings Stamp Set, it stamped this Rich Razzleberry Ombre Ink Pad and fussy cut them out.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

Lauren
