Colour Challenge – CYCI#148

So I am back to blogging and to kick it off I decided on the Can You Case It? Colour Challenge.  I used this as inspiration to make my Grandma’s birthday card.   17098700_10211646694578325_3645540853983100779_n

Yellow has never been a top pick in the colour department so it was a great challenge for me and as for turquoise well Bermuda Bay has always been one of my favourites.

Here is my card:

I used the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set.  The background is stamped on Shimmery White, in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

The Lace Doilies are from the Falling In Love Suite.  I inked this in Daffodil Delight, then Versamarked and Clear Embossed.

The circle on the doily is die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Finally I cut the flowers with the Succulents Framelits Dies.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

Up & Away

I think this is one of my favourites from the new Occasions Catalogue and the matching DSP in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

This card was made for my Cousin who is off overseas in America for the next month… I wanted a card that quick and simple.  I instantly thought of the Lift Me Up Stamp Set and coordinating Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  This thinlits set has the detailed balloon plus the solid pieces to layer in the back to create filled in images.

I chose Real Red, Dapper Denim, Soft Sky and Whisper White.  I randomly stamped the bigger cloud from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set in Soft Sky to create the background.  I stamped the sentiment using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set in Dapper Denim.  I used Mini Glue Dots to attach the pieces of Real Red to the Dapper Denim balloon and then Tear & Tape to adhere the whole balloon to the card base.  I finished it off Pearls.

This card is great because you can just change the sentiment and the colours and it’ll be perfect for anyone.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

In Love With Letterpress

So lately I have been playing around with using Versamark on my embossing folders and have had some great results on the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  This card I made for my cousin.

How I made this card:

  • The base is half an A4 sheet (210 x 148mm, scored at 105mm)
  • The embossed layer is 100 x 144mm
  • I inked up the Brick Wall Embossing Folder with Versamark and ran it through the Big Shot
  • I covered it with Copper Embossing Folder, I used a dry brush to remove any excess powder
  • On separate piece of Whisper White I randomly stamped (and double stamped) the big and small balloons in Night of Navy and Marina Mist, then fussy the cluster
  • Then I separately stamped three smaller balloons, fussy cut them out
  • I used the Number of Years Stamp Set to stamp the 21 in Night of Navy and the Large Numbers Framelits Dies to cut out, added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella (Men like a bit of sparkle right?, haha)
  • I used the same stamp set and framelits die to create the banner, I used the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set to stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment
  • Then I stuck everything down with Snail and popped up the separate balloons and the banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Here’s a close up of the card:

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,

Dream Big

This is my first attempt at using the Enjoy the Little Things Stamp Set which all demonstrator received if they attended Onstage last November… So I have had it for a really long time and just haven’t used it mainly because I didn’t know what to use it for apart from the coordinating Enjoy the Little Things Project Kit.

Until I saw a card on Pinterest and decided to case the idea using the dream stamp from the set.  I had also bought the Stars Framelits when they were apart of weekly deals months ago and again never used them.  I thought it appropriate in pairing up the ‘Dream Big’ sentiment and stars.

I used the Whisper White Thick Cardstock as the card base and layered a piece of the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum Stack.  The final layer is a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which I cut the two smallest stars from the Stars Framelits and finished the middle off the star of with a Pearl Basic Jewels.

Here is close up of the stamped sentiment which I have gone over the ‘Big’ with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Clear.

#GDP028 Enjoy the His and Hers…

Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project which is a Case the Designer challenge this week.

I love trying to create the same card using the exact same products and just change the colours to create his and her cards. LM16-BC016a.jpg

My Cards: For the background I used step 2 from the What I Love Stamp Set, which is brilliant to use as a background stamp.  I stamped on to the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum Stack with the ‘Enjoy the Little Things’ sentiment from the Enjoy the Little Things Stamp Set using Jet Black Stazon.  I layered the piece of vellum on top of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stuck them together with a piece of the Metallics Glitter Tape on either side.  The His Card uses Island Indigo and Silver and the Hers Card uses Rose Red and Gold.

His Card:

Hers Card:

I am really going to miss all these Sale-A-Bration products when they retire on Thursday 31st March.

I stuck everything down with Tear & Tape Adhesive purely because my snail was out of reach and I was feeling lazy. haha.

If you wanted to play along with the Global Design Project and try and Case the Designer: Jessica Williams.  You must enter by 3pm AEDT on Monday.  Just click the picture below to be taken to the Global Design Project website.
