CYCI#149 – Sketch Challenge

This week I am playing along with Can You Case It?  which have brought back their sketch challenges… YAY!!

Here is the challenge:

This is my card:

How I made this card:

  • Card base is Thick Whisper White A6;
  • The dsp is from the Morrocan Suite in the Annual Catalogue, cut to 3.5×2.5in;
  • The brown layer is whisper white cut to 3.5 x 2.5in, I stamped the watercolour looking stamp from the Perpetual Calendar Stamp Set in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso;
  • The banner strip uses the off cuts of the brown piece, I used tear & tape to keep them together and fishtailed the end;
  • The ballon I placed strips of the silver and white washing tape from the Urban Underground Washi set on to a piece of Whisper White then cut out with the stripe balloon from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies;
  • The sentiment is stamped in Emerald Envy from the Window Shopping Stamp Set.

Until next time… Happy stampin’,

You’re Super Duper! #CYCI143

So I am here with my first new catalogue inspiration post, showing off my Super Duper Birthday Card.  To make this card I played along with Can You Case It? Sketch Challenge.

Here is my card:

My colour palette for this card is Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

How I made this card?

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White;
  • The background is Shimmery White Cardstock cut to 148 x 95mm;
  • Using re-inkers for each colour mentioned above on a piece of plastic packaging and water I used them to randomly colour the page.  I used my heat tool speed up the drying process;
  • I ran the background piece through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder;
  • I stamped the sentiment twice once in Daffodil Delight and once in Melon Mambo.  I fussy out the whole Daffodil Delight and just the ‘Super Duper’ on the Melon Mambo;
  • I stamped the balloon from the same stamp set in Rich Razzleberry, fussy cut that out too;
  • Then I adhered everything down with Tear & Tape and Stampin’ Dimensionals on the sentiment.

I just love how this card turned out. The shimmer that you can see on the background piece is just gorgeous!!

Until next time… Happy stampin’

Delicate Details #CYCI141

This week I am playing along with Can You Case It? sketch challenge.   I loved the sketch because there was so many ways to play it and take inspiration from it.

Here is my card:

This card uses Delicate Details Stamp Set from the SAB Catalogue and Party Adventures Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue,  both catalogues are coming in the New Year.  I have used my go to colour combo Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum.

How I made this Card?

  • Card base is Thick Whisper White (Cut at 210 x 148mm, scored at 105mm);
  • Sweet Sugarplum piece is 142 x 100mm, I stamped the largest lace stamp from Delicate Details Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Ombre Ink Pad;
  • The sentiment is from Party Adventures, I used Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp;
  • Then I used the second largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the sentiment;
  • I used Snail Adhesive to attach the Sweet Sugarplum piece and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment;

1, 2, 3!! – CYCI 132 Sketch Challenge

Once again I am playing along with Can You Case It? and their sketch challenge.

This week I made a card for my little cousins birthday who is turning 3!!  The sketch is really simple but there was a lot you could do.

Here is my card:

How did I make this card?

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White cut to A5, scored in half;
  • Using the Number of Years stamp set.  I used Marina Mist, stamped off for the 1 and stamped normal for the 2;
  • The 3 and the “rd” banner is Marina Mist card stock cut using the Large Numbers Framelits;
  • I stamped on the banner and the sentiment using Night of Navy;
  • The vellum piece is 1.5inch wide and I used the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner.  I attached the 3 to the vellum using the Handheld Stapler.
  • I adhered the vellum to the card using snail and the banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CYCI#128 – Sketch Challenge

Don’t you just love when you receive an order with some brand new goodies inside? I know I do.  In my order I received two new stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue and was happy to use them whilst playing along with this weeks Can You Case It? challenge.

Here is my card:

I’m just so happy with how it turned out.  The colours I used were Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry, a combo that I happened by happy accident because they ended up together in my Color Caddy.

The stamp sets I am using are the Alphabet Labeller and Penned & Painted.

How did I make this card?

  • The base is Thick Whisper White Card stock (My go to base for almost all my cards).  Cut to A6 (148 x 210mm, scored at 105mm).
  • The piece Sweet Sugarplum card stock is cut to 144 x 100mm. The top piece of is regular Whisper White card stock cut to 138 x 95mm.  Then I cut an 1inch off the long side of the Whisper White piece.
  • I stamped the largest flower from the Penned & Painted stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum then the matching outline stamp in Rich Razzleberry.  I also stamped two extra flowers onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and fussy cut those out.
  • I stamped out the sentiment on a separate piece of Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry and then fussy cut that out too.
  • I adhered the Whisper White top piece to the Sweet Sugarplum piece.
  • I attached the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around the two top layers using Glue Dots and lots of Snail Adhesive, covering the top of the Whisper White layer..
  • Then I adhered all of this to the card base.
  • Finally attaching the two fussy cut flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adding a little Clear Wink of Stella to the flower at the top.

Mojo Monday #455

I’m back, it’s been a while!!

I wanted to get back into the swing of things with a sketch challenge…  Today I am playing along with Mojo Monday.

So here is my card:

How did I make this?

  • The card base is the Thick Whisper White card stock.  A6 (148 x 210mm)
    Scored at 105mm.
  • Background piece is using the de-inking of my Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad, this technique I cased from my upline Rose from Creative Roses.  I cut this piece down to give have a small border around the impression.
  • The balloons in the top corner uses the largest balloon from the Balloon Builders Stamp Set.  They’re stamped in Night of Navy and Rose Red.  I fussy cut this cluster out and used dimensionals to pop up the balloons. I cut off the overhang of the balloons.
  • The banner that is layered on top of the balloons was created by stamping the arrows from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.  The arrows are stamped in Night of Navy and Sweet Sugarplum.  I cut this line out and used snail and dimensionals to adhere.
  • The sentiment also uses the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set. This is also is stamped in Night of Navy and Rose Red.  This is adhered with snail.
  • When I was finished I felt that the background was to plain so decided to add in the balloon strings in Night of Navy.

If you want to play along with Mojo Monday you have until 8pm MT Sunday.

Until next time… Happy stamping,
