#gdp098 – Sketch Challenge

Today I played along with the Global Design Project's Sketch Challenge.  I really wanted to use the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, which I have had for over a month and haven't used.

How I made this card:

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White (Cut 297 x 105mm; scored 148mm).
  • The background is 143 x 100mm.
  • I fussy cut the feather looking paper. I used Stampin' Dimensionals along the top of the gold piece and adhered it to the other piece.  I used Snail adhesive all the DSP pieces together.
  • I wrapped the Linen Thread around twice and tied bow.  I stuck another piece of Stampin' Dimenionals at the bottom of the gold piece.  I adhered the all the DSP to the card base.
  • The sentiment is from Label Me Pretty Stamp Set.  I stamped in Tranquil Tide and punched it out with a 1-1/4" Punch.
  • I punched out a piece Fresh Fig with the Pretty Label Punch and adhered the sentiment with a dimensional.  I went to attach it to the card but felt that it looked a bit flat, so I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the Pretty Label Punch, cut it down the middle and adhered it to the sentiment.

I really enjoyed playing along with GDP which I haven't done in a while.

Until next time… Happy Stampin',

You’re Super Duper! #CYCI143

So I am here with my first new catalogue inspiration post, showing off my Super Duper Birthday Card.  To make this card I played along with Can You Case It? Sketch Challenge.

Here is my card:

My colour palette for this card is Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.

How I made this card?

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White;
  • The background is Shimmery White Cardstock cut to 148 x 95mm;
  • Using re-inkers for each colour mentioned above on a piece of plastic packaging and water I used them to randomly colour the page.  I used my heat tool speed up the drying process;
  • I ran the background piece through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder;
  • I stamped the sentiment twice once in Daffodil Delight and once in Melon Mambo.  I fussy out the whole Daffodil Delight and just the ‘Super Duper’ on the Melon Mambo;
  • I stamped the balloon from the same stamp set in Rich Razzleberry, fussy cut that out too;
  • Then I adhered everything down with Tear & Tape and Stampin’ Dimensionals on the sentiment.

I just love how this card turned out. The shimmer that you can see on the background piece is just gorgeous!!

Until next time… Happy stampin’

1, 2, 3!! – CYCI 132 Sketch Challenge

Once again I am playing along with Can You Case It? and their sketch challenge.

This week I made a card for my little cousins birthday who is turning 3!!  The sketch is really simple but there was a lot you could do.

Here is my card:

How did I make this card?

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White cut to A5, scored in half;
  • Using the Number of Years stamp set.  I used Marina Mist, stamped off for the 1 and stamped normal for the 2;
  • The 3 and the “rd” banner is Marina Mist card stock cut using the Large Numbers Framelits;
  • I stamped on the banner and the sentiment using Night of Navy;
  • The vellum piece is 1.5inch wide and I used the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner.  I attached the 3 to the vellum using the Handheld Stapler.
  • I adhered the vellum to the card using snail and the banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CYCI#128 – Sketch Challenge

Don’t you just love when you receive an order with some brand new goodies inside? I know I do.  In my order I received two new stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue and was happy to use them whilst playing along with this weeks Can You Case It? challenge.

Here is my card:

I’m just so happy with how it turned out.  The colours I used were Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry, a combo that I happened by happy accident because they ended up together in my Color Caddy.

The stamp sets I am using are the Alphabet Labeller and Penned & Painted.

How did I make this card?

  • The base is Thick Whisper White Card stock (My go to base for almost all my cards).  Cut to A6 (148 x 210mm, scored at 105mm).
  • The piece Sweet Sugarplum card stock is cut to 144 x 100mm. The top piece of is regular Whisper White card stock cut to 138 x 95mm.  Then I cut an 1inch off the long side of the Whisper White piece.
  • I stamped the largest flower from the Penned & Painted stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum then the matching outline stamp in Rich Razzleberry.  I also stamped two extra flowers onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and fussy cut those out.
  • I stamped out the sentiment on a separate piece of Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry and then fussy cut that out too.
  • I adhered the Whisper White top piece to the Sweet Sugarplum piece.
  • I attached the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around the two top layers using Glue Dots and lots of Snail Adhesive, covering the top of the Whisper White layer..
  • Then I adhered all of this to the card base.
  • Finally attaching the two fussy cut flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adding a little Clear Wink of Stella to the flower at the top.

cyci128-232x300I am so happy with how this turned out.  I just love playing with new products.  And if you wanted to play along with Can You Case It? challenge just click on the challenge.
