CTC175: Favourite Occasions Big Shot Projects

Today I played along with CASEing the Catty Challenge, this weeks challenge was CASE one of favourite Big Shot project from the Occasions Catalogue.  I CASEd the card from page 7 that features the Let the Good Times Roll Bundle.

For this card I swapped out the Good Times Roll Bundle for the Lift Me Up Stamp Set and coordinating Up & Away Thinlits Dies.

Gather your supplies:

Putting your card together:

  • I took the two clouds from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set and stamped randomly over the card base with Bermuda Bay Ink.
  • Then I stamped the clouds over the Smoky Slate piece with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
  • I stamped the hot air balloons one in Calypso Coral and the other Bermuda Bay.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Old Olive on to a piece of Whisper White cut to 3-1/4″ x 1″.  I trimmed the edge on the angle.
  • I cut out the hot air balloons as well 1 large, 2 medium and 2 small clouds from the Up & Away Thinlits Dies.
  • Then I embossed the piece of Calypso Coral with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.
  • I adhered the Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate pieces down on to the card base with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  • I adhere the largest die cut cloud and the two hot air balloon with Fast Fuse.
  • I zigzagged some more Fast Fuse to adhere the Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon.
  • I tied some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the end of the sentiment piece, then adhered it over the top of the Mini Chevron Ribbon with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally I adhered the remaining clouds with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

GDP134: Sketch Challenge

Today I played along with the Global Design Project’s Sketch Challenge.  For this card I used the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper as the basis for my colour palette of my card.

Gather your supplies:

Putting the card together:

  • I adhered the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  • I cut out the Whisper White Cardstock out with the largest vval from the Stitched Shaped Framelits and the Crushed Curry Cardstock out with the largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set on to the stitched oval with Sahara Sand Ink.
  • I fussy cut out the camera from the DSP.
  • I adhered a line of Fast Fuse across the card front to adhere the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.
  • I then adhered together the ovals with Fast Fuse, then adhered them both to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the camera with both Fast Fuse and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally I created a bow with the Organza Ribbon and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

CTC174: Hostess Sets and Memories & More

Today I played along with CASEing the Catty Challenge, CASEing projects from either the Occasions Catalogue or the Annual Catalogue 2017-2018’s Hostess or Memories & More pages.  I chose a card from page 192 of the Annual Catalogue.  I created 2 versions, one using the same Memories & More Card Pack as the one in the catalogue, the other I used Petal Palette Memories & More Card Pack.

Gather your supplies:

Putting the cards together:

  • I trimmed down the Memories & More Cards to fit the card base.
  • I adhered the 3×4 Memories & More Card to the 6×4 card.
  • I tied the Baker’s Twine and the Whisper White Organza Ribbon to each of the cards.
  • Then I adhered the Memories & More Card to the card bases with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Petal Passion version I spritzed the card front with Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Petal Palette Stamp Set on to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Memento ink.  I cut out the sentiment with the die from the Petals & More Thinlits. And adhered it to the card with Fast Fuse.

Retirement List: Fresh Florals

I recently joined Kylie Bertucci’s Love It Chop It Workshop facebook page which has inspired me to look at my stock pile of Designer Series Paper, that has been sitting all pretty on a shelf for too long.

So I decided to create a set of cards featuring the In Colors 2017-2019 and then the retiring Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.

Gather your supplies:

Putting your cards together:

  • I adhered all the strips to the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive, placing two strips at the top and two at the bottom leaving a space in the middle.
  • I then stamped the sentiment in each colour on to pieces of Whisper White Cardstock.  I trimmed any excess cardstock off.
  • I zigzagged some more Fast Fuse in to the centre of the card front and adhered the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.
  • I adhered the sentiment on to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The 100 Day Project: Days 1 – 10

I made it through the first 10 days of The 100 Day Project.  I have been really enjoying it.  Sometimes I create a totally new project or I use off cuts from another.

Day 1

This card uses Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist Ink.  Birthday Wit Stamp Set, Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine.

Day 2

This one I used Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Magical Day Stamp Set.  Berry Burst and Tangerine Tango Ink.  I cut the oval out with the Layering Oval Framelits Dies.

Day 3

This card uses the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper Stack for the background and I cut out the party hats.  I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, some Copper Metallic Thread.  I used Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set for the sentiment and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

Day 4

For the background I used the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I already had the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies square of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment twice from the Super Duper Stamp Set, one in Tranquil Tide and the other in Lemon Lime Twist.  And fussy cut the whole of the Tranquil Tide sentiment and then just the banner of the Lemon Lime Twist.

Day 5

I cheated a little for this one, because today was Onstage Local in Sydney and this was my team swap.  This card uses only Whisper White and Shimmery White.  The stamp set is Petal Palette.  I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Memento Inks.  Finally I coloured in my Whisper White Organza Ribbon with the Stampin’ Blends Light Pool Party Marker.

Day 6

The background piece is from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.  I stamped the sentiment on a mixture of Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake all with Emerald Envy Ink.  I punched out the sentiment with Classic Label Punch, Tailored Tag Punch and Duet Banner Punch.  I stamped three seperate moustache using the Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Markers.

Day 7

On to the Crumb Cake Cardstock base I stamped the Burlap Background Stamp in Crumb Cake Ink.  I stamped the outline part of the sentiment with Berry Burst and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch.  I stamped the sentiment with Crumb Cake Ink and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Underneath the sentiment I adhered some Copper Metallics Thread.

Day 8

With the retirement list coming out I decided to use some of my stamp sets that had unfortunately were at the back of my basket of stamp sets and are now retiring.  This card uses the some Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used Sprinkles of Life and the Tree Builder Punch to stamp the sentiment and stamp and punch the cupcake top.  I fussy cut the cupcake bottom.  I used Real Red and Memento Ink.  I placed the cupcake on piece of Basic Black Cardstock that was punched with the Everyday Label Punch.  Which was placed on top of some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine.

Day 9

Today I wanted to create an easy card.  The card base is from the Perfect Days Memories & More Card Pack.  The sentiment and what it’s stamped on is from the Lots of Happy Card Kit.  I stamped the sentiment in Emerald Envy.  Underneath the sentiment I layered some Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

Day 10

This final card uses the Colour Theory Designer Series Paper which I had cut into strips and layered them on the card.  The sentiment is from the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set, I stamped it in Old Olive ink and punched out with the Starburst Punch.  I used a touch of Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon.

CTC173: True Gentleman Pages

Today I played along with CASEing the Catty Challenge, CASEing pages from the True Gentleman pages from the Occasions Catalogue.  I chose a card from page 40.

Gather your supplies:

Putting the card together:

  • I took the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set and my Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Marker to colour in the glasses and randomly stamped them around the edge of the card base.  I also stamped the glasses on to a separate piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and fussy cut it out.
  • I stamped the sentiment on to a piece of Dapper Denim Cardstock in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then punched it out with Tailored Tag Punch.
  • Using the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder to emboss the piece of Tranquil Tide Cardstock.  I adhered this to the card base with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  • I adhered the sentiment and the Copper Metallic Thread with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.
  • Finally I adhered the fussy cut pair of glasses to the sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The need to know:

  • Retiring items are only available while supplies last and will be discontinued after 31 May.  Although, due to high demand for retiring stamp sets, retiring stamp sets will be guaranteed available until 7 May.
  • Retiring items are eligible for Stampin’ Rewards with qualifying orders.
  • Retiring host sets can only be purchased using Stampin’ Rewards from a qualifying party.
  • You may see an unusually high number of ink pads and cardstock retiring. We have some wonderfully exciting changes coming your way including the long-awaited Colour Revamp (more info below), although you may just want to make note of the fine print at the bottom of the last page which indicates that some items will be ‘reconfigured’ (ie quantity or packaging may change). A symbol will show which items are being reconfigured.

Handy Hints:

  1. Go through your catalogue with a highlighter to mark all the retiring items (that’s what I’ll be doing!).
  2. Remember that items will sell out, so for up-to-the-minute accuracy your best bet is to use my online store.
  3. You can search the online store to see which retiring items are still available – discontinued products will be removed.
  4. Check the RETIRING COLOURS listed below, and make sure you order any ink refills or cardstock that you need to stock up on.
