CTC140 – For Babies & Kids

I have been really enjoying playing along with all these different challenges during this past week. Today I am playing along with CASEing the Catty 140. CASEing samples from the For Babies & Kids section of the Annual Catalogue (page 102 – 111).

I chose to case the card on page 109 that features the No Bones About It photopolymer stamp set.

For my card I used the You're Delightful hostess stamp set.

How I made this card:

  • The card case is A6 thick Whisper White.
  • I randomly stamped the speech bubble stamps across the card front in Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Flirty Flamingo.
  • I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White in Flirty Flamingo and filled in the letters with Clear Wink of Stella.
  • I added on some Silver 1/4" Natural Trim, Silver 1/8" Ribbon and Silver Sequins.

I love the final outcome of this card and have really started to embrace using ribbons and trims.

Here is the challenge if anyone wanted to join me.

And until next time… Happy Stampin',

Lauren

#gdp098 – Sketch Challenge

Today I played along with the Global Design Project's Sketch Challenge.  I really wanted to use the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, which I have had for over a month and haven't used.

How I made this card:

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White (Cut 297 x 105mm; scored 148mm).
  • The background is 143 x 100mm.
  • I fussy cut the feather looking paper. I used Stampin' Dimensionals along the top of the gold piece and adhered it to the other piece.  I used Snail adhesive all the DSP pieces together.
  • I wrapped the Linen Thread around twice and tied bow.  I stuck another piece of Stampin' Dimenionals at the bottom of the gold piece.  I adhered the all the DSP to the card base.
  • The sentiment is from Label Me Pretty Stamp Set.  I stamped in Tranquil Tide and punched it out with a 1-1/4" Punch.
  • I punched out a piece Fresh Fig with the Pretty Label Punch and adhered the sentiment with a dimensional.  I went to attach it to the card but felt that it looked a bit flat, so I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the Pretty Label Punch, cut it down the middle and adhered it to the sentiment.

I really enjoyed playing along with GDP which I haven't done in a while.

Until next time… Happy Stampin',

  • 2.5in x 148mm piece of Lemon Lime Twist from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.
  • Crushed Curry Scalloped Circle from the Layering Circles Dies.
  • Whisper White Circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
  • 40 is stamped in Pool Party on to Pool Party with Number of Years Stamp Set cut out with the Large Numbers Dies, also added some Clear Wink of Stella.
  • I attached the circles and numbers and stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black above.  I added some Gold Faceted Gems and White Baker’s Twine.

Freshly Made Sketches #299

Today on my blog I created a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I decided to turn the sketch on its side. I used Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper and took the colour palette from this paper as inspiration.

How I made this card:

  • Card base is A6 Thick Whisper White Card stock.
  • I cut 1in strips of the Pick A Pattern DSP, the green pieces are 4in and the other pieces are 1 9/16in.
  • Using the Layering Circles Dies I cut the scalloped circle out of Emerald Envy.
  • I then layered the Stitched Shapes Dies circle cut out in Whisper White on top of the Scalloped circle.
  • I fussy cut out the dinosaurs from the DSP.
  • I stamped the 4 in Crushed Curry using the Number Of Years Stamp set and cut it out with the Large Numbers Dies.
  • I adhered everything down.
  • Finally stamping sentiment in Emerald Envy and added some Gold Faceted Gems.

This was a great challenge and I loved the outcome of it.
