I’m back this time hopping with Social Stamping, for their fourth hop. On this 25 April, Anzac Day here in Australia, our theme is fittingly War & Peace. So if you’re starting here, or joining me from Sheila Pybus, Welcome!!
For this week, I’m using and guessing most of our hoppers this week will be using is the Peaceful Poppies Suite. I created one card and also got the chance to decorate our garage door with die cut poppies for Anzac Day.
For the card, I took a piece of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (5-1/4” x 3-5/8”), stamping the larger poppy outline from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set in Memento ink. I started with three poppies, stamping in the top left, bottom left & bottom right. I then stamped the poppy onto a post-it and cut it out with my Paper Snips, (alternatively you could die cut it out with the coordinating Painted Labels Dies).
I placed the mask over the already stamped poppie, continuing to fill in the in the gaps between the poppies without overlapping. I repeated the step stamping the two different leaves in the stamp set. I draw a border around the edge of the piece of DSP with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. I coloured in all the flowers and leaves with the Poppy Parade & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker Combos.
I adhered the piece of DSP to a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock (5-1/2” x 3-7/8”) with Tear & Tape Adhesive and then onto the Old Olive card front (5-3/4” x 8-1/4”; scored: 4-1/8”) with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I attached some black sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins with some Mini Glue Dots.
For the garage door, I raided my scraps draw and found every available piece of Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Merry Merlot, Lovely Lipstick, of course Poppy Parade, Highland Heather, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss and Basic Black. And spent about an hour die cutting the two solid and two outline poppies from Poppy Moments Dies, solid I cut out the purples & reds and the outline I cut out the outline. I also went back to cut out the stamens from the really small pieces of Basic Black. I adhered everything together with Multipurpose Glue.
I also did a few stamped poppies in Memento ink on Whisper White Cardstock, stamping over them with the coordinating paint effect stamp in Poppy Parade & Rich Razzleberry inks, then fussy cut them out. Yesterday afternoon, my Mum and I attached all the poppies to the garage using clear packing tape, I also cut some 5mm strips of Old Olive Cardstock for the stems.
Until next time… Happy Stampin’ & Lest We Forget,
