CI48: Color Challenge

I hope everyone’s 2019 is going great so far…

I’m back with another Colour INKspiration, Colour Challenge, this time using Tranquil Tide, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.  For me I loved the inspiration image of the beautiful beach scene, so I immediately knew that I wanted a watercolour background.  With the beach scene as the inspiration, I also decided to use the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and coordinating Tropical Thinlits.

I created the watercolour layer by inking up my Clear Block F with Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride near the centre.  Then I inked up the outside of the plate with Tranquil Tide and Calypso Coral.  Spritz the plate with water and place a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock.  I dried with a heat tool, fill in any space that don’t have colour on them with the left over watercolour.  Once again dry with the heat tool.

Stamp the Monstera Leaf stamp onto the piece of Shimmery White, down one side, in Versamark and heat emboss with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Stamp the palm leaf in Bermuda Bay onto a piece of Shimmery White, then ink up the stamp again with Tranquil Tide and spritz with water and stamp over the top (but not perfectly) of original.  Die cut out with the coordinating die.

Stamp the sentiment half in Tranquil Tide and the other half in Calypso Coral onto the Shimmery White piece.  Adhere the Shimmery White piece to a Basic Black card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Finally, adhere the palm leaf to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Until next time… Happy Stampin’,
