I’m back today playing along with CASEing the Catty Challenge, CASEing projects from the Birthday pages of the catalogue. I chose a card from page 68 featuring the Broadway Birthday Suite.
For my card I used the Best Route Designer Series Paper as jumping off point for my colour palette.
I started my card with a Mango Melody card base measuring 8-1/4″ x 5-3/4″; scored at 4-1/8″, then layered two pieces of Mango Melody, one measuring 4-7/8″ x 5-1/2″ and the other 3-7/8″ x 4″. The larger piece is embossed with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder and the other piece is embossed with the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder.
On top of the pieces of Mango Melody I layered two pieces of Best Route Designer Series Paper, one measuring 3-7/8″ x 3-1/2″, and the other measuring 4-7/8″ x 3-1/4″. Using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits that fits inside to cut the piece of Basic Black Cardstock. Then I took the Layering Oval Framelit that matches the size of the stitched oval and cut out the Whisper White oval.
I stamped the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel on to the Whisper White oval. I stamped the sentiment on to another piece of Whisper White in Pineapple Punch then cut out the ‘of’ and ‘to you’. I stamped the bow in Mango Melody and the shadows in stamped off Mango Melody, and fussy cut out the bow. Then I stamped the asterisks looking stamp in Versamark ink evenly around the Basic Black oval frame and heat embossed with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
I love how this card turned out, especially the oval frame with the embossed asterisks.
