Au Revoir Banner Punch

I haven’t had the Banner Punch for very long but fell in love with it when I made this card and sad to see it on the retirement list.

I made this card on Mother’s Day weekend when I was at the Brisbane Model Train Show.  It was actually my Mum who started me off with this because I had left the stand for a few minutes and when I came back she had grabbed the punch and a piece of It’s My Party Designer Series Paper and started to punch.  I decided to continue and created this card.

The stamp I used is from stamp set that is included in the Watercolor Wishes All-Inclusive Kit.  I just love that stamp set it is so sophisticated looking and beautiful.

But any the back to the card I love the texture that is created by the layering of the punched DSP.  And of course had to add some Clear Wink of Stella to the lines of the stamped sentiment as well on some of the arrow on the DSP which unfortunately you can’t see.

Nicely Stacked

So I originally made this card intending it to be Mother’s Day card but then I later figured it could be an any time card.

I really do love the cup stack in the Nice Cuppa stamp set which is sadly retiring, especially when it is paired with the leaves and flowers from the Numbers of Years stamp set.

I stamped the cup stacks in Blackberry Bliss (another sad to see retirement) the leaves and flowers in Old Olive and Perfect Plum.

I also stamped the two tea tags from the Nice Cuppa stamp set also in Perfect Plum which I just had to add a rhinestone to.

Captain America vs Iron Man

Last friday after I had finished setting up my stand at the show I knew it would be a while until I would be leaving.  I decided to make the following card (lucky I had the forethought to bring my last piece of Real Red and Pacific Point card stock and was able to make five cards from them).

I thought it appropriate with the latest Captain America being released… Which is awesome by the way!!

I had seen heaps of Captain America cards around Pinterest but never an Iron Man card.  I initially made the Captain America first and showed it to one of the organisers kids who was walking around which he said to me, “I’m offended… I am an Iron Man fan…”  So with that in mind I challenged myself to come up with an Iron Man side, and I think it turned out great.

The Iron Man symbol is made with a circle of Real Red Card Stock, cut in 4.  The circle smaller in Whisper White Card Stock.  A star cut out of Whisper White, cut off one of the points, making sure it’ll fit in the Whisper White circle, I covered the triangle in Clear Wink of Stella.  Finally adhering everything together.

Mothers Day Week

This is going to be a busy week for me as I prepare for my first show this weekend and I have been busily making cards to show and sell.

My first lot of cards that I made are Mothers Day cards to that I thought I would share for any one needing some inspiration.

My first card is a card in a box.  I always thought they were these huge boxes made out of 12×12 card stock and were made solid so my other thought was “where would you store them after the event?”

After some research (mainly pinterest).  I discovered how wrong I was, they can fit in a C6 envelope and fold flat.

LM16-MDC001

The dimensions: 5 1/2in x the width of an A4 (210mm),  I scored every 2in on the long side. On the short side I scored at 2 3/4in.  Each piece of Designer Series paper is cut at 1 7/8 x
2 5/8in.  There is also a piece on the back which does’t get folded that DSP piece is cut at
1 7/8 x 5 3/8in.

The hearts I cut out with the heart that is apart of the Circle Card Thinlits.  The tea cup is from the A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set.  I used Melon Mambo which I stamped off first, which kind of gives it a nice watercolour effect.  I fussy cut the cup because I don’t own the Cup & Kettle Framelit Dies that co-ordinate with the stamp set.

The sentiment on the front is a piece of Whisper White cut out with the smallest dies in the Chalk Talk Thinlits and the 1 1/4 Scallop Punch.  I used some Clear Wink of Stella on the hearts which is a bit hard to see.
